From the first idea to the last session
1Say what it is
A name, one of twenty subjects from math and science to cooking and drama, and the grades it suits. Or describe it in one sentence and the first two screens fill in for you to check. Until you share it, only you see it.
2When and where
The same day and time each week, for as many weeks as you choose, in person or online. Each family sees the time in its own time zone, and the sessions on its family calendar. Where you meet is shown only to families who are signed in.
3Families ask for a place
Share the class's one link with the families you know, or list it with MyEdora's public classes. A family asks for a place for their child, and you decide.
4Plan the term
In math, reading, science, geography and history, Edora proposes a term from your class's subject and grade: a week at a time, each with a game or a storybook that practises what that week is for. Swap or drop any of it, then use it. Each week's work goes on every child's plan for that week, and nothing is ever marked late. In other subjects, you set each week's work yourself.
5Run each session
Teaching shows today's sessions. Take attendance with one tap on Everyone's here, then untick anyone who is missing. Afterwards, write a line for the families; a note about one child goes into that child's records, for their parents.
6End the term
Close the class when the term is over. Each family keeps its child's term, and Run it again starts the next one with the same families invited. To run a class again on another day or at another time, make a copy and change its dates.
What families can count on
Families stay private
Where and when the class meets is shown only to families who are signed in, and who else is in it stays private.
Parents read every note
Anything you write about a child, their parents can read. There are no private tutor notes.
Parents choose the team
A family that declines a new teacher on the class keeps its place, and that teacher never sees their child.
No ranking
Children are never ranked or compared, on any screen, and the class lists them by first name.
What it costs
Running a class on MyEdora is free today; if that changes, it will be announced first, with notice. You set your class's price per session or per term, or make it free, and families see it on the class's page before they ask. For now each family pays you directly; paying through MyEdora comes later.
